The ubiquitious intro post

My Promises to You
  1. I will try not to ramble--too much.
  2. I will attempt to bring a semblance of order into this blog by actually using tags
  3. I will not mistake this blog for one of the others by posting completely unrelated blog matter...oh, wait.

In short: Yes, Phoebe is my real name, and yes, I do tend to ramble, or to go back to a conversation snippet from half an hour ago that everyone else has forgot (but which has been bugging me ever since). I'm a stay-at-home mama just outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. The nearest store closes at 10pm. The other one is a bar, and it doesn't close til...um...I don't know. My bar going days are behind me--and I'm not sorry about that either. I'd rather pop a cold one with friends at my house (ohhh the horror!!).

What will this blog have in it? Yes, Virginia, that's a good question. My internet is a bit spotty. So I may not update as much as I'd like to. And in the summer, I'd rather be outside than inside, kwim?

This is what I will attempt to bring to the Internet:
  1. More Alaska pictures (does the world really *need* more Alaska pictures??)
  2. Lots of rambling about writing research, hopefully with pictures. My current WIPs (works-in-progress) are set between the Regency/Victorian eras, the Klondike, and WW1. The WW1 pictures are pretty grim, though, so I doubt I'll post many of those.
  3. More knitting talk! Seriously, though, you can never have too many knitting blogs out there (spoken like a true addict).(this is why I'll be tagging posts, if knitting bores you to tears, you can opt out)
  4. Maybe book reviews. I read practically every genre, so I have a lot to choose from. If you want horror, country-western or sci-fi though, you'll have to go elsewhere.

I think that's about it.

Here are some random pics off the web:

Phoebe bird--what everyone always thought I was named after (or the Titan-ness, the moon, or the actress Phoebe Cates).

Phebe was the maid in Eight Cousins by Louisa May Alcott. I was named after her!
